1913 GE SMY Fan

March 13, 2014 Tim Marks

In 1913 GE introduced their new stationary fan, now referred to as the Small Motor Yoke. Unlike its predecessor, the SMY was relatively light weight at about 20lbs. The motor was smaller, more efficient and very quiet. From me experience, the bearings lasted longer too.

After a month long restoration I'm pleased to present these images of my finished GE SMY fans. The restorations were very straight forward and the end result is two perfectly functioning and quiet GE fans.
