Winding a GE Kidney Fan Motor

May 7, 2014 Tim Marks

Re-winding motors is not necessarily a complicated task, but it does require some background research if you plan to be successful at it. In a past blog I recommended some excellent background reading material should you wish to learn how to do this. AFCA members such as Rick Huckabee are also doing a wonderful job of teaching interested people how to wind motors in person, simply attend an AFCA get-together or event to learn.

The following photos are a journal of the six-pole polyphase re-wind that I performed on my 1911 GE Kidney Fan. This fan is still my favorite from my whole collection because of its beauty and function.
